February 9th: Bye bye camper hello paradise
We bidded farewell to the campervan and picked up a car in Queenstown. The camper was a fab little house for three weeks.

We drive along the lake side , the road contoured the lake, heading in the direction of Glenorchy. The Toyota Corolla we were driving feels like a formula one car compared to the Maui. bless it.

Glenorchy is situated at the top of Lake Wakatipu, about 45km from Queenstown.

We find our hotel in tiny, peaceful and idyllic Glenorchy. We bump into Sarah and meet some of her Kiwi buddies. The others are down by the lake riding on Sarah's brother's boat and biscuit (an inflatable you sit in and scoot round behind the boat). Martin has a go in a borrowed wet suit. Clings on for dear life and only falls out of once! I went in the boat with Sarah armed with a camcorder to record the event and the falling.

We arranged a spontaneous BBQ down by the lake in the evening by Chris, Roz and Nicky's Maui. A feast was prepared.

February 10th: The wedding
Breathtaking as the scenery is we were a bit concerned in the morning. The clouds were thick and heavy, not looking good!

I walked down to the wharf where various people were helping set up for the wedding. Martin went off to record things. As the morning progressed the clouds burnt off and the weather couldn't have been better.

At 2pm we all assembled by the wharf. The sun beating down on us and with a refreshing cool breeze from the lake.

The ceremony started, lots of gulping - it was really moving. Sarah, Dave and all looked stunning and with the jaw dropping scenery... it was just wonderful.

After the ceremony the main core of the wedding party drove up into the mountains to have some pictures taken by the photographer. Martin and I gave some of the party a lift. The scenery was spectacular with huge panoramas looking down over Glenorchy and the river deltas.

After the piccies we drove back down to join the rest of the party, drinking Champagne and eating cakes. We chatted for ages and soon it was time to go for the wedding meal. We tucked into a buffet and chat to the other guest that were on our table.

The celebrations carried on into the night with a band playing - an excellent duo, great fun.
